Here’s a Better Idea: Make a Positive Contribution on Facebook

Having learned my lesson about attempting to force the issue of growing your friends list on Facebook, I’ve realized that there are a whole lot better ways to attract friends to you by making a positive contribution…

Here are some of my thoughts on the matter….

Internet marketers are coming into facebook and it is annoying. The good news is that I can filter them out rather easily. Contribution and being a good citizen and adding value is how you increase your influence (not number of friends).

careful what you wish for… If you have 5000 friends you will surely be inundated with garbage and filtering through it might prove a challenge.

having a large network only allows you to “broadcast” to 5000 people. Is this worth the risk of diluting the true value of facebook which is acting as a data-stream for content that interests me and is created by my network.

Something to chew on. contribution into the network is how you will attract what you wish for. Cheers.
