Progress is Slow but Sure for ZBIZ.TV: I’m Optimistic

Conan O'Brien

Little by little, I’m cleaning up the problems that plagued me in my first two weeks of production for ZBIZ.TV.

Since I switched from Quicktime to Flash, the image quality is crystal clear.

On the advice of a friend, I picked up a pair of lapel mikes from Radio Shack and filtered them through a preamp I found at Guitar Center, which makes for a nice, clear, clean sound from both me and the interviewee.

And I’ve tossed aside my script and relaxed a little bit, having a better exchange with the interviewees than when I was simply going down a list of questions. Chatting with them for about 15 minutes prior to taping also helped both of us relax.

Unfortunately, none of you will see the results of these efforts until some time in November, but at least I have something better to offer coming down the road.

Editing remains my final frontier. I thought I found a good audio/video editor last weekend, but he has failed to respond to my three attempts to email him since then. Maybe my emails are in his spam filter… That’s always possible.

In any case, I’m making progress. I’m learning. And I’m looking forward to having the editorial product I serve up every week in tip top shape by the end of the year. Then, I’ll probably focus a little more than I am now on growing the audience and finding good sponsors.

I have another interview in about 2 hours I need to prepare for, so I’ll sign off for now…

Later…
